We would like to announce that the first phase of our new format (an alternative to the current "Eternal format"), is already finished! We have called this new format the "KIC Open format", and soon we will be announcing a lot of new features! (KIC - Krosmaster International Community)
The "KIC Open format" is where all existing Krosmaster Arena seasons figurines can be truly integrated, including the last one released in the Krosmaster Blast Kickstarter by Ankama (7th Season). This format comes as an improved version to replace the "Eternal Format" for those communities that adopt it for their local tournaments. As it balances out each miniature, there is no need for "star ratings" anymore. Just one big pool of figurines to have fun with.
The "KIC Open format" have it's first phase finished, and may have a detailed update depending on the feedback from the international community at a later date. Our format development and testing team made up of nine country representatives, including among them Huun Dow (developer of most of the seasons of the official Ankama game), some international-level players, internationally known fanpage's staff and more! They have been working and are still working on it for over a year, and we are confident that the KIC Open Format is being adjusted for a great casual or competitive experience, enabling more teams and combination, and hopefully, leaving no figurine behind!
For that purpose Krosmaster International Community (KIC) made a "KIC Open deck - Season 2", wich has the same purpose of "Eternal Deck 01" which is fixing an balancing cards. But this time with the cards from Season 2. (card design made with the collaboration of www.krosarchive.es)
And of course, we are working on more stuff for the future!
The "KIC Open" format have the following bases:
- All Krosmaster Arena seasons, with all official miniatures can be used in this format.
- Season 1 miniatures must use the official "Eternal Deck 01" profile cards instead of original ones.
(here you can see all season cards and Eternal Deck 01 cards and in many languages. Give your thumbs up for our friends at: https://krosarchive.es/EN/season)
- Season 2 Miniatures must use "KIC Open deck - Season 2" profile cards instead of original ones.
(Will be available soon)
- Some profiles from Season 3 to Season 6 must use the profile alterations from the official Buff and Debuff list.
As you can see the big change in this format (for now!) is a new facelift for the old Season 2, allowing us to play any miniature of all existing seasons for team building. This will give an enormous freedom of creation under the double premise of avoiding excessive combinations that might unbalance this format, as well as making attractive the use of all existing figures as far as possible. We are waiting for our international community feedback, and we might continue with our next phase which would be mainly focused on Season 3.
In addition, we have a team in charge of updating the current rulebook of the game to make it better and more compact. These revised Comprehensive Rules first version will probably be ready and launched alongside the new format as there are some relevant tweaks and interactions.
King Nidas, a level four character which has a very powerful and underrated power ability, he has an intimate relationship with its number of attacks. The excessive use of this power can lead to serious imbalances, however we have tried to find the middle ground that makes it a more playable figure in diverse team configurations.
Nidas has seen reduced the cost of his first spell, although in this case its additional effect would only be activated when targeting opposing characters, as well as it has turned his second spell purple, being able to cast it more than once per turn. This renewed ability to manage kamas optimizes his power, as well as his third spell, also updated, which has modified its range and whose cost only involves an investment of three kamas. All in all, Nidas has come to be a more than decent level 4 who really likes the economy in Krosmaster Arena!
Ira Tayte, the lowest level Osamodas of Season 2 from Krosmaster Arena, whose qualities were not at all exploited at a competitive level. His first spell is truly devastating against opposing summons, and is even useful for eliminating your own summons to optimize their placement with your team's own summoners. This spell has not changed at all, and neither has his Prespic summoning, which is still a very interesting contribution of APs debuff. However, the cost of this second spell has been halved and its color has been changed to blue.
Finally, Ira Tayte's Initiative has been increased to 5, making him a much more effective summon sweeper, which will be highly appreciated against certain builds and makes this Osamodas a piece of great strategic value.
